Master Closet Reveal

Master closet reveal. Plus how to hang a closet rod on a sloped or angled ceiling or wall. I share 5 options including bracket sources. You'll love this colorful, closet with shoe shelves and a mini linen closetHi friends! I’m really excited to share with you my finished closet! When the master” bedroom> was revealed, the closet was empty and sad. We just didn’t have time to get it done with the room! But now, today it is finished. Let’s start with a few progress shots and then finished shots at the bottom.

I don’t have a proper before photo, but here is the right side of the closet once it was painted, new floors were put in, and baseboards were installed.

One of the reasons we put the closet here is that the attic access will get covered by clothes. We continued the shiplap and crown molding in here from the master bedroom.

On the left of the doorway, my husband put in shelves for my shoes!!! The Kichler Alton” flush mount light> was installed in the closet.

At this point, a lot of the closet was done, but there was one big question- how to attach the rod to the angled ceiling? I shared that dilemma on Instagram and I have a few ideas to share as well as what we came up with!Master closet reveal. Plus how to hang a closet rod on a sloped or angled ceiling or wall. First option- connect a board from the front to the back of the closet. Attach it to a stud. Drill a hole for the rod to go through.Master closet reveal. Option 2- create a free-standing rod out of metal pipe. Construct it low enough so that it will fit under the angled wall. Image” via.>

Option 5- here is what we did! We cut a piece of wood into a triangle shape. We cut into the drywall so the wood fit snugly and screwed it into a stud. After caulking and painting, it blends right in and solves the issue.Master closet reveal. Plus how to hang a closet rod on a sloped or angled ceiling or wall. The real MVP’s of the closet are the” dremel> and the Multi” max>. If you’re into DIY at all, I 100% suggest these.

Multi” max>– is good for fast, small, precise cuts. We used it for cutting drywall and fitting the shelves around the trim.

After that LONG back story, here’s how it turned out! Since we moved in, I’ve shared a closet with my husband and my son and  in the laundry room. So it feels ridiculously nice to have all of my clothes in one space! Dresses/skirts/pants are on top and tops/jackets are on the bottom. All arranged in rainbow order. There’s a long hanging section in the back for jumpers and full length dresses.

To the left of the door are the finished shoe shelves! These were designed to fit two shoes next to each other. I think they are so, so pretty! Shoes on display? Yes, please! Note, my not so pretty shoes are on the back of the shelves, by the clothes.

To the back of the closet, under the sloped ceiling, are the shelves for linens. We don’t have a linen closet anywhere, so I figured this would be a good place since both bedrooms are upstairs. Now I have storage for blankets, sheets, pillow shams, and extra pillows. Hint, if you need cheap baskets, Ikea’s metal” baskets> are super affordable! I added a light switch cover tied on with ribbon with a label on it to identify the contents.

There was a little extra space, so I tucked my pink” ottoman> in there. It’s nice to have a place to lay stuff as you’re hanging it up, plus isn’t it so luxurious to have seating in a closet?!Master closet reveal. On the blank wall, I hung my jewelry holder (a” diy from here>), some art, and a hook to hold my purse. It is also nice for hanging up my outfit for the day.

When designing the closet, I wanted something that was big enough to fit everything, but not so big to make the rest of the room feel small. I’m super happy that we accomplished that! The cherry on top is the floor” length mirror> that fits perfectly within the trim on the door.

My husband’s closet is in the office, right next to his bathroom (right where he likes it). I think we could have shared this closet if we didn’t add the linen shelves in the back and I stored my seasonal clothes. Everything I have is hanging up- which I actually prefer. Anyway, I always get a few questions about that, so I figured I’d explain why I get this whole pretty space 🙂

So there’s the whole closet! I’m feeling so grateful to have this pretty space to store my things! It feels luxurious! Let me know if you have any questions about this project in the comments.
